Police: Man Forced Woman Back To Her House At Gunpoint, Shot At Her On L.I.
FREEPORT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Long Island were searching Wednesday night for a man who allegedly forced a woman to go back to her own house and give him money at gunpoint, and went on to fire shots at her.
Around 2:15 p.m., the man flashed a black handgun as he walked up to a 33-year-old woman on Sunrise Highway in Freeport, and took her cellphone, Nassau County police said.
The man demanded that they walk back to the woman's house on Randall Avenue, and she was to give him no less than $5,000, police said.
Once they reached the front door, the man fired two shots, but missed, police said. The man then fled south on Brookside Avenue, police said.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect was described as a black male about 21 years old, standing 6 feet tall with a medium build and a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black mask, black gloves, dark gray hooded sweatshirt, black sweat pants and black sneakers.
