Police: Man Assaults Straphanger With Guitar At Botanic Garden Subway Station In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man who they said assaulted a straphanger with an electric guitar in Brooklyn.

It happened just before 1 p.m. back on Sept. 23 on the northbound platform at the Botanic Garden subway station.

The suspect walked up to a 24-year-old man getting off the shuttle train, hit him in the head with the guitar and then punched him in the face before fleeing, police said.

The victim was taken to the hospital with lacerations to his face and hand.

The suspect was seen on surveillance video. He's described by police as a 25- to 30-year-old black male, about 6 feet tall and weighing around 160 pounds.
