Police: Man Accused Of Shooting, Killing Man In N.C. Could Be Headed To Staten Island

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A police manhunt is underway for a fugitive who may be headed to Staten Island.

Police are looking for 17-year-old Cortaz Lucas Jr., from Clayton, North Carolina.

He is accused of shooting and killing his mother's boyfriend in December 2014.

It is believe he could be on his way to or already hiding out on Staten Island.

The NYPD tells CBS2 they have been putting out messages to all officers over the radio warning police about this suspect.

There is a cash reward of up to $1,000 for any information leading to Lucas's arrest, the Clayton Police Department in North Carolina said in a Facebook status.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call Clayton Police Department's Detective Jason Linder at 919-553-0158.
