Police: Long Island Man Steals Donation Jar For Hospital Charity

LINDENHURST, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Suffolk County man is accused of stealing a donation jar filled with cash for a hospital.

Police said Thomas Campion, 49, of Babylon swiped the jar from a store in Lindenhurst on Saturday.

There was about $200 in the jar for Columbia Presbyterian Hospital's heart center.

Campion was charged with petit larceny and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on May 2.
