Police Investigate Fatal Shooting In Suffolk County

SHIRLEY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Suffolk County are investigating the shooting death of a man in Shirley late Friday night.

Police said officers were called to 446 Auborn Ave. around 11:30 p.m. after a report of shots fired.

The victim, 23-year-old Jamar Lamar, was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue by a private vehicle, where he was pronounced dead.

As the investigation continues, police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the Homicide Squad at 631-854-6394 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
