Police Investigate Fatal I-95 Wreck

RYE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- New York State police are investigating a deadly accident that closed the northbound lanes of the New England Thruway between Exit 21 in Westchester County and the Connecticut state line Friday morning.

The accident between a truck and a car occurred around 2:30 a.m. in Rye near a ramp where I-287 and I-95 meet.

One person was killed and several others were injured, according to published reports.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Traffic from I-95 northbound was diverted off Exit 21. Traffic from I-287 eastbound was diverted to I-95 southbound.

The thruway lanes were reopened around 8:30 a.m.
