The incident was caught on surveillance video. It shows the suspect run up and grab the victim from behind. The victim appears to get shot during a struggle with the suspect. While the attendant is gasping in pain, the suspect can be seen rifling through the victim's pockets for cash, before running off, 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck reported. The video ends with the victim limping off camera.

"It's happened a couple of times before but nobody got shot before," one of the victim's co-workers said. "It's really bad."

This is the second time in a week that a Delta gas station attendant was shot and wounded during an armed robbery in New Jersey.

Last Monday, a gas station attendant was shot once in the stomach during an armed robbery at the Delta gas station on Main Street in Ridgefield Park. The suspect took off with several hundred dollars in cash, police said.

Police are investigating whether the two incidents are related.
