Police: Burning Body Found In L.I. Shopping Center Parking Lot

HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Long Island are investigating after a body was found burning in a shopping center parking lot in Suffolk County.

Police said the burning body was found around 11 p.m. Wednesday between two cars outside a Waldbaums supermarket on Wall Street in Huntington.

Many who live and work nearby were shocked.

"It was kind of scary honestly, it really is," one resident told WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs. "Not at all what I expect in Huntington Village. It is kind of shocking."

Few other details are known, but police and the arson squad are investigating, CBS 2's Andrea Grymes reported. Still no word on the identity of the victim or the circumstances surrounding the death.
