Police Arrest 3 In Connection With 3 Long Island Bank Robberies
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Three people have been arrested for allegedly robbing several Long Island banks.
Police said with the help of his ex-wife and an acquaintance, Robert Oliver robbed three banks over the course eight days in Setauket, Smithtown and Nesconset, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.
Authorities said when Oliver walked into one of the banks, it looked more like he was injured in an accident.
The 40-year-old is accused of putting bandages around his head and face and putting his arm in a sling, then threatening the teller.
In another robbery, detectives said Oliver wore a surgical mask to disguise his appearance.
In each case police said Oliver's ex-wife and the acquaintance would wait for him in the getaway car.
All three were charged.
