Police: 48 Pairs Of Designer Sunglasses Stolen From Store Near NYU

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Friday for a two suspects who ripped off 48 pairs of high-end sunglasses from a store near NYU.

Around 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, the suspects walked into the Sunglass Hut at 755 Broadway, and began taking sunglasses from the displays, police said.

They made off in total with 25 pairs of Gucci sunglasses, 11 pairs of Versace sunglasses, eight pairs of Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses, and four pairs of Prada sunglasses – all valued at more than $20,000, police said.

The suspects ran off. No one was injured, police said.

Police have released a surveillance image of the suspects.
