Police: 2 Arrested After Trying To Climb Tappan Zee Bridge

GREENBURGH, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Two men from Queens were arrested after police said they tried to climb the Tappan Zee Bridge early Friday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., New York State Police got a call about two people trying to climb the bridge.

When officers arrived, they found two men walking along the deck of the bridge, police said. The two told police they were on the bridge trying to take pictures, according to authorities.

Grant Gilliam, 27, of Rego Park, and James McCullagh, 28, of Woodside, were arrested on reckless endangerment, criminal trespass and other charges, authorities said.

They were released on bail and are due back in court next week.
