Police: 1 Killed In George Washington Bridge Crash

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- One person was killed Sunday morning when a tractor-trailer and a car collided on the George Washington Bridge, police said.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police say the wreck happened around 2 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the bridge's upper roadway.

Two people were pinned in the car and needed to be extricated. One passenger was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital Center at about 5 a.m.

The debris was cleared and traffic was moving normally by 8:10 a.m.
