Police: 1 Dead In 1-Car Crash On Major Deegan Expressway

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Brooklyn man died in a one-car crash on the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx early Monday morning.

Police said Mohammed Hoque, 35, struck a tree to the right of the roadway while driving a Ford Explorer in the northbound lanes near West 230th Street at around 3:15 a.m.

EMS who responded to the scene pronounced Hoque dead at the scene upon arrival, police said.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
