Pedestrian Dead After Hit-And-Run In North Corona, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in Queens early Sunday.

Investigators said Pedro Perez, 51, was struck at 5:11 a.m. at 112th Street and Roosevelt Avenue in North Corona.

He was found unconscious in the roadway, and was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

Police said Perez was struck by a black sedan headed west on Roosevelt Avenue, and the driver took off.

There were no arrests as of just before 4 p.m., and the investigation continued.
