PATH Service Restored On Journal Square-33rd Street, 33rd Street-Hoboken Lines After Fire

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Good news for PATH commuters:  Service has resumed after an electrical fire disrupted service all morning on the Journal Square to 33rd Street and 33rd Street to Hoboken lines Monday.

The fire broke out in a PATH tunnel in Manhattan.

The fire was reported at 3:38 p.m. Sunday at 19th Street and Sixth Avenue in Chelsea. No injuries were reported but the 23rd Street station was evacuated.

Passengers used light rail at Exchange Place. NJ TRANSIT also cross-honored tickets.

NY Waterways also cross-honored tickets at Hoboken and Paulus Hook. Customers were asked to show their PATH tickets at the window for a free pass.
