PATH Car From 9/11 Headed To Connecticut Trolley Museum

EAST HAVEN, Conn. (CBSNewYork) -- A PATH train that survived the 9/11 attacks at the World Trade Center has found a new home.

Car No. 745 is becoming a part of the Shore Line Trolley Museum in East Haven, Connecticut, WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported.

"I'll do anything to protect some of the heritage from that," said Wayne Sandford, the museum's general manager.

Sandford said the train car speaks to the selflessness of 9/11.

"These cars in a sense were heroes," he said. "They were sent in to bring people out, and I think that story can be told."

A procession to the museum is planned for Thursday. The exhibit will open Friday.
