Parking Garage Under Construction At William Paterson University Partially Collapses

WAYNE, N.J. (AP) - State inspectors are on the scene of a partial collapse of a parking garage under construction on William Paterson University in New Jersey.

One section of a precast slab on concrete fell on another around 7:45 a.m. Friday, injuring two construction workers, university public relations director Mary Beth Zeman said.

The workers were taken to a hospital with what Zeman described as non life-threatening injuries.

State inspectors will decide if work can resume on the five-level garage on the Wayne campus. It will have 1,000 parking spaces and is scheduled to be finished in the summer.
