Water Main Break Shuts Down Road, Snags Subway In Park Slope, Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A water main break Friday evening briefly shut down busy Flatbush Avenue near the Barclays Center, and also halted two subway lines.

The water main ruptured around 7:45 p.m. at 244 Flatbush Ave., near St. Mark's Place, in Park Slope, Brooklyn, officials told CBS2.

Flatbush Avenue as of the 9 p.m. hour remained closed between Grand Army Plaza and Atlantic Avenue.

The No. 2 and 3 subway lines were also briefly shut down, but later returned to normal service, officials said.

Several bus lines were also delayed, including the B25, B26, B38, B41, B54, and B63 buses.

The Department of Transportation and the Environmental Protection were on the scene making repairs to the road and the water main Friday evening.
