Small Plane Crashes In Pennsylvania, Leaving 87-Year-Old Pilot Trapped Inside

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (CBSNewYork)-- A small plane crashed into a tree in Pennsylvania, trapping the pilot inside, dangling 50 feet off the ground.

The incident occurred Saturday afternoon near the Gettysburg Airport.

It took rescuers about four hours to get the 87-year-old pilot down. He was taken to the hospital with some scrapes on his hands, but otherwise is expected to be okay.

The plane will remain in the tree until the National Transportation Safety Board begins its investigation into the cause of the crash.
