Owner: Woman Throws Ketchup Bottles During Rampage In NYC Diner

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 22-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly throwing a foul-mouthed temper tantrum in a Flatiron District diner.

Alex Grimpas, owner of the Malibu Diner on West 23rd Street, said Latima Brown was yelling and cursing at somebody on the phone when the manager asked her to leave.

"She was arguing constantly on the phone and cursing," Grimpas told 1010 WINS. "After 10 minutes...we asked her politely to stop cursing and if she would like something to order. So she got very upset."

Brown allegedly spit on the manager and punched him in the head before smashing glass ketchup bottles against a mirror and a television, causing $1,200 in damage, Grimpas said.

"Her friend tried to calm her down, but it was impossible," Grimpas said.

Brown also threw everything that was on the counter, including pastries, a telephone and credit card machines, onto the floor, Grimpas said.

Brown was charged with assault and criminal mischief and released. She is due in court on May 15.
