NJ TRANSIT, Amtrak Service Resumes After Overhead Wire Problem Suspends Trains
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Service has been restored after an overhead wire problem suspended service on NJ TRANSIT and Amtrak lines Tuesday morning.
NJ TRANSIT's Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast and Raritan Valley Line trains are all running with residual delays. Midtown Direct trains are running with residual delays in and out of New York after being diverted to Hoboken.
Amtrak has also resumed Acela Express and Northeast Regional service between Philadelphia and New York. It says riders should expect residual delays.
The low voltage condition was reported around 8 a.m. Tuesday on the Northeast Corridor. Amtrak crews were sent out to fix the problem, which was resolved shortly before 9 a.m.
NJ TRANSIT tickets are continuing to be cross-honored on buses and PATH trains.
