One Person Killed In Fiery Crash In Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A woman has died after her car exploded into a huge ball of fire in Westchester County.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday on Palmer Road near the intersection of Gramercy Avenue in Yonkers.

Investigators say the car careened into the guard rail before bursting into flames. By the time firefighters arrived, the car was already engulfed, CBS 2's Janelle Burrell reported.

No other passengers and no other vehicles were involved.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
