On WFAN: Antrel Rolle Defends Giants D-Coordinator Perry Fewell

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- The Giants' offense produced this past Sunday night, but the defense struggled to contain Tony Romo and the Cowboys in the second half.

After leading 21-10 at halftime, Dallas outscored New York 21-7 in the final two quarters to win 31-28.

It was a devastating loss for the G-Men, as Dez Bryant caught a 13-yard touchdown pass with 1:01 left in the game to give Dallas the lead -- and the win.

"In (defensive coordinator) Perry Fewell's defense, when certain things go wrong throughout the course of a game -- as a defensive coordinator and as a play caller -- it then makes you hesitant to call certain things," safety Antrel Rolle told WFAN hosts Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts on Tuesday in his weekly spot.

On the Cowboys' game-winning drive, Romo had plenty of time to find his receivers. The defensive line just couldn't get to him, and it cost Big Blue its sixth straight defeat.

"(Fewell) had a couple blitzes called during the earlier part of the game, and those blitzes were busts," Rolle told Joe & Evan. "... I think we played good defense for the most part, but there were a lot of times when the defense had some mental relapses.

"As a coordinator it just kind of puts you on your heels a little bit, because you're kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't. I think the play calling was fine. We could have been in position to make plays. We just didn't make the plays."

The Giants will look to snap their losing streak against the lowly Jaguars on Sunday.
