Officials: Connecticut Man Busted At JFK With Nearly 5-Lbs Of Cocaine

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- A Connecticut man has been accused of trying to smuggle nearly 5 pounds of cocaine inside of his luggage.

Warren Hawk of East Hartford was stopped at John F. Kennedy International Airport, on June 5, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.

Hawk had been traveling from Georgetown, Guyana.

After seeing rails on the back of the bag that appeared 'unusually thick' inspectors decided to take a closer look. Inside they said that they found almost 5-lbs of cocaine.

Hawk faces federal drug smuggling charges.
