Off-Duty NYPD Officer Accused Of Punching Man In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- An NYPD officer was arrested this past weekend, on allegations that he punched a man during a pickup football game in the Bronx.

Tiquan Carruthers, 29, was arrested at 6:25 p.m. Sunday in the Bronx, police said.

Carruthers was off-duty when he allegedly punched the man in the face after getting into an argument with him during a game in Van Cortlandt Park Sunday afternoon, police said.

The victim was treated at a hospital and released.

Carruthers was charged with assault. He has been placed on modified duty.
