WATCH: 6-Year-Old Giants Fan Lectures Beckham About Self-Control In Open Letter

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- On Monday, Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was suspended one game by the NFL following ugly incidents against the Panthers in which he was flagged for three unnecessary roughness penalties.

The two-time Pro Bowler appealed, but the league upheld the suspension on Wednesday.

After the ruling was announced, Beckham tweeted, "I apologize to my teammates, the Giants organization, and to all fans of the NFL."

But despite his apology, many remain upset and alarmed about how Beckham acted on the football field.

Earlier this week, an open letter addressed to the reigning AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year was posted on YouTube. It featured a six-year-old Giants fan, and its subject was the importance of self-control.

"My name is Sidney Mosley," the child said while sitting on a couch in front of a beautiful Christmas tree. "I am from Queens, New York. I am six years old. This message is to Odell Beckham Jr. about self-control. When you are mad at someone, you do not look at them, stare at them or fight with them. You tell the referee in the game. You are the Giants' best player, Odell Beckham Jr. The Giants need you.

"You can do it. You must learn from your mistakes. All the kids are watching you. That's why you need to set a good example. Who is going to catch the touchdown from Eli Manning? You are suspended, you must learn from your mistakes. The Giants need you. You can do it! Have a good day. I pray for you, I believe in you. Have a nice day. Goodbye."

Sometimes kids are a lot wiser than we give them credit for.
