Ocean Township Wedding Crashers Sought, Face Strong Armed Robbery Charges

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBSnewYork) --  It's like a scene from a Hollywood movie.

Well, not really.

Three young men who allegedly crashed a wedding reception in central New Jersey last weekend are now being sought on strong-armed robbery charges.

The young men mingled with guests, consumed food and beverages and took pictures inside a photo booth set up for the event, which was held Saturday night at the English Manor Banquet Facility in Ocean Township, authorities said.

When it was learned that the three young men had not been invited to the reception, a woman who manages the facility tried to detain them until police arrived. But one of the men threw her to the ground, and all three then ran out of the building, police said.

Authorities say the strong-armed robbery charges were filed because the young men consumed beverages and food and then used physical force to flee.

The Township of Ocean Police Department had originally asked the public for assistance identifying the three suspects. In a tweet Tuesday afternoon however the department confirmed they have since identified them as local juveniles.

They say the three are still part of an "active investigation."
