NYPD: Woman Struck By Private Sanitation Truck, Dies

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A woman who was struck by a private sanitation truck while crossing a Manhattan street has died, according to police.

Jodi McGrath, 55, was crossing First Avenue at 92nd Street at around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning when she was struck by the truck, which was making a left turn at the time, according to police.

McGrath was taken to New York Presbyterian Cornell Hospital and later died from her injuries, police said.

The driver of the private sanitation remained on scene during the incident, police said.

No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
