NYPD Officer Saves Unresponsive Baby At Brooklyn Bank

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An NYPD cop is being hailed as a hero after saving a baby's life at a Brooklyn bank Thursday.

Around 2:30 p.m., two officers responded to a call at the Bank of America at 350 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn when they were met by 29-year-old Sunnia Carberry holding her unconscious, unresponsive 3-month-old son, Jaylen Taylor, police said.

Officer Jeff Boardman then checked the infant's vital signs, opened his mouth to clear any potential breathing obstruction and began chest compression until the child regained consciousness. Jaylen was then given an oxygen mask and transported to Brooklyn Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
