Mets To Hold Moment Of Silence For Slain NYPD Officer Moore Before Tuesday's Game
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Mets will hold a moment of silence for slain NYPD Officer Brian Moore prior to their game against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night, VP of Media Relations Jay Horwitz confirmed to CBS2 earlier in the day.
Moore, 25, died Monday, two days after being shot in the head while sitting in an unmarked squad car in Queens.
As part of the tribute, the Mets will display Moore's image on the scoreboard, the team said.

A wake for the Moore will be held Thursday with funeral services planned for Friday. Gov. Andrew Cuomo ordered flags on all state government buildings to be flown at half-staff in honor of Moore from Tuesday until his burial.
Flags are already flying at half-staff at Citi Field, where NYPD officers are expected to make up the color guard during the playing of the national anthem. In addition, the area of the stadium near the Jackie Robinson Rotunda will be illuminated by a blue light in Moore's memory, according to the New York Daily News.
Charges against the accused gunman, 35-year-old Demetrius Blackwell, were expected to be upgraded to first-degree murder, which, if convicted, carries a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
