NYPD: Man Steals $1,000 From Blind Man In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man who they said robbed a 57-year-old blind man in Brooklyn earlier this week.

The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. Tuesday at the corner of Bay and Ocean avenues in Midwood.

The suspect came up behind the victim, grabbed his arm and took his wallet, containing credit cards and about $1,000 in cash, from his back pocket, police said.

Police have released surveillance video that shows the suspect following the victim, who can be seen using a white cane.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).  The public can also submit their tips to the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
