NYPD: Man Scales Brooklyn Bridge, Taken Into Custody
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- NYPD emergency teams rescued a man who climbed to the top of the Brooklyn Bridge on Friday and threatened to jump.
All lanes were shut down around noon.
Officers spoke to the man for about three hours.

Police say he stepped away from the ledge after he was offered a cigarette.
The man agreed to come down and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
