NYPD: Bronx Man Arrested After Slapping Police Horse In Times Square

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Police have turned the tables and slapped the cuffs on an alleged horse slapper.

On Tuesday, a mounted police officer was riding his horse at the corner of 7th Avenue & 47th Street when a man walked up and slapped the horse on the rear end, startling it, police said.

The horse wasn't injured but lurched forward, creating a risk of injury to the officer, pedestrians nearby, and traffic, according to police.

Officers stopped the man, who had no identification on him but did have a small bag of cocaine, police said. He also appeared to be intoxicated, according to police.

Victor Flores of the Bronx faces charges of reckless endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct.
