NYC's Global Welcome Ambassador Taylor Swift Announces World Tour Dates, Skips NY

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Just about a week after being named New York City's new Global Welcome Ambassador, Taylor Swift announced the dates of her 1989 World Tour.

In a series of videos posted on New York City's official tourism site, the pop star greets travelers to the Big Apple.

Many questioned the choice, saying they preferred a native New Yorker like Robert De Niro, as opposed to Swift, a recent New York City transplant who was born in Pennsylvania but moved to Tennessee at 14 to pursue a career in country music.

Well, guess the one place where Swift isn't playing on the upcoming tour?

New York City!

MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford is as close as Swift will get the The Big Apple.

I guess we should "Shake It Off."
