2/7 CBS2 Super Bowl Sunday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia

Good afternoon, everyone! Hopefully you have some plans for the big game later on CBS. Today will be the warmest day of the week, with highs in the upper 40s to near 50. It'll be dry if you're heading out with just some increasing clouds through the evening.

Overnight lows dip to 34 in the city, and 20s for the NW suburbs with mostly cloudy skies as a coastal low makes its move offshore. The center passes well off the coast, but it looks like part of the area will get grazed by the western edge of the precip field. This starts off an unsettled pattern with multiple snow chances over the next 3 days.

Looks like some light snow will start off tomorrow morning, mainly south and east of the city (especially eastern L.I.). Then periods of light snow move through tomorrow through Tuesday, with some lingering flakes even on Wednesday. Expect an active pattern, but NOT a huge storm. As of now, total accumulations for the 3 days are looking generally light with a trace to 3" inland and 3-6" for eastern L.I and along the Jersey coast.

Either way, much colder air arrives to end the week. Stay tuned for the latest!
