Police Seek 3 Suspects In 2 Separate Subway Assaults In NYC

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for several suspects in connection with two separate subway assaults in New York City.

Authorities have released surveillance images of a man wanted for an assault on the No. 2 train in the Bronx two weeks ago.

Police said the man followed a young woman off the train at the 149th Street stop in Mott Haven, then pushed her to the ground, beat her with his cane and stepped on her right hand.

The victim said that earlier, the two had gotten into an argument over a seat on the train.

Authorities are also looking for two men they said punched a guy in the face on the L train and took his cell phone.

Detectives said the men then got off the train and ran off.

The incident happened on Aug. 5 near the Livonia Avenue subway station in East New York.
