Historic Subway Car Gets Special Sendoff After More Than Half A Century

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- After more than half a century, the New York City subway system gave a special sendoff to a historic subway car.
A platform full of people cheered as the R-42 car made its final run Wednesday on the A line.
The cars have been part of the subway system seen 1969.
They've been used on two dozen lines, each car traveling more than 7 million miles.
