NYCHA Residents Demand State Funding For Housing Improvements At Albany Rally

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Hundreds of New York City Housing Authority residents headed to Albany Monday for a rally with officials, demanding more state funding for housing improvements.

Ralliers were joined at the state Capitol by members of the Senate's Independent Democratic Conference, a breakaway faction of Democrats who this year are pushing for an increase in state spending for affordable housing improvements.

Earlier this year, the conference put out a report detailing what it said were deplorable conditions in public housing in the city.
