NYC Food Truck Lunch: NY Club Roll From NY Lobster Club

Perry, the founder of New York Street Food, brings you his latest review on New York City street food.

Another lobster roll truck hit the NYC streets within the past couple of months called the NY Lobster Club. That makes at least five by our count, and this one is fairly traditional in terms of their menu.

Prices are about the same as most of the other trucks, with a regular lobster roll here costing $16. We went for the namesake dish, the NY Club Roll, which cost $18, but included bacon! That's double what we usually spend for lunch, but sometimes you have to suffer for your chosen vocation.

At least there was plenty of lobster meat on the toasted roll for the price. The lobster was mainly knuckle and claw meat, and it was mixed with light herbs and mayo. The herbs and mayo were good, but light enough not to take away from the taste of the lobster.

Underneath the lobster were two slices of thick, crispy bacon that covered the entirety of the bun. The warm, salty bacon was a good counterpoint to the cool and sweet lobster and the light, toasted hot dog bun. Delicious!

The NY Lobster Club truck doesn't seem to have a website or to be on Facebook, but you can find where the truck will be on Twitter here.

We were happy with the NY Club Roll, but if you want something different, they also offer classic lobster rolls, lobster sliders and shrimp rolls, which are only $10.
