8/28 CBS2 Sunday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good evening folks! As advertised we had fantastic weather today, and it was a great way to close out August's final weekend. We will get a bit more humidity tonight ahead of a front. Some spots far N/W of NYC could get a brief shower, but most spots stay dry.

Tomorrow's a classic late summer day - hot and steamy with isolated storms. Expect upper 80s and low 90s in spots with a muggy feel. If you're gonna head to the beaches to cool off, beware of rip currents...high Risk due to the effects of Hurricane Gaston out in the Atlantic. Enjoy the surf but be safe!

We'll be a bit nicer on Tuesday with slightly less humidity and temps in the mid 80s, and we'll get warmer & muggy again Wednesday with a storm chance and highs closer to 90.

Check back soon for the latest, including a preview of autumn next weekend!
