Officials: NY State Police Trooper Fatally Struck By Car In Saratoga County

WILTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A New York State Police trooper was killed after being struck by a car in upstate New York early Wednesday morning.

According to authorities, Trooper Timothy Pratt, 55, was critically injured after being struck by a passing car driving down Ballard Road in Wilton shortly after 6 a.m.

Pratt was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where he died several hours later, police said.

Pratt, of South Glen Falls, served as a member of the New York State Police force since 1987. Prior to joining the force, Pratt served in the U.S. Air Force from 1979-1986.

He leaves behind a fiance and three children -- two sons and a daughter.
