North Jersey Man Faces Charges In Connection With Minivan Fire

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. (AP) -- A northern New Jersey man faces numerous charges after a stolen minivan was allegedly set on fire.

Bergen County prosecutors say the fire was reported early Friday, and they soon learned the vehicle had been stolen Thursday night from a bar in Englewood. They say the subsequent investigation led authorities to the Englewood home of Rafael Lynch.

After getting a search warrant for the home, authorities found items that they say were in the minivan when it was stolen. They also found marijuana, large amounts of cash, prescription painkillers and drug packaging paraphernalia.

Lynch was charged with arson, theft and numerous drug offenses.

It was not known Sunday if he has retained a lawyer, and a telephone number for him could not be located.
