Joan Rivers' Daughter: 'We Are Keeping Our Fingers Crossed'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Joan Rivers' daughter says loved ones are hopeful about the comedian's condition as she remains hospitalized three days after going into cardiac arrest at a Manhattan doctor's office.

Melissa Rivers said in a statement Sunday that "we are keeping our fingers crossed." She's thanking people for expressing their support.

Rivers said Friday that her mother was in serious condition.

Among the well-wishers are fellow celebrities. They include two of Joan Rivers' co-stars on TV's "Fashion Police," Giuliana Rancic and Kelly Osbourne.

"Praying for Joan Rivers and Mel Rivers," Rancic tweeted. "Even though Joan's the strongest woman I know, every single prayer counts. I love you, Joan."

"4 the first time in years I got down on my knees & prayed tonight!" Osbourne wrote. "I encourage U 2 do the same 4 Joan Rivers my grandma!"

The Mount Sinai Hospital said Sunday that it had no updates to release on the 81-year-old Rivers' health.

Rivers was taken to Mount Sinai on Thursday morning after she went in for a procedure on her vocal cords at the Yorkville Endoscopy Clinic.

Sources told CBS 2 that Rivers stopped breathing during the throat procedure and was in cardiac arrest when she was rushed from the clinic to the hospital. She was revived by paramedics and placed in a medically induced coma at Mount Sinai.
