12 NJ TRANSIT Bus Lines To Change Gates For Evening Rush At Port Authority Terminal

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Many NJ TRANSIT riders at the Port Authority Bus Terminal will be moving permanently to new gates during the evening rush.

The change goes into effect Saturday, Sept. 3, and involves 12 bus routes.

Five buses will move from the third level of the terminal to the gates in the lower level of the North Wing. The other routes will be moved, but will still be on the third level.

The changes are expected to reduce crowding for customers and improve the flow of buses through the terminal, according to NJ TRANSIT.

The changes are part of a pilot program involving the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, NJ TRANSIT, and Greyhound buses.

The NJ TRASNIT website has specific information about the changes.

Customers can also use the online bus terminal map to find their new gates.
