NJ Transit Bus, Military Vehicle Collide On NJ Turnpike In Newark

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) - Several people suffered minor injuries when a New Jersey Transit bus and a military vehicle collided on the New Jersey Turnpike in northern New Jersey.

The accident happened around 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes near Interchange 14 in Newark.

Officials say 55 people were aboard the bus, which was headed from Scotch Plains to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York. It's not clear how many people were in the military vehicle.

None of the injuries were considered life-threatening. One person was taken to a hospital for treatment, but further details have not been disclosed.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the state police.
