Advisory: Alcohol Banned On NJ TRANSIT This Weekend

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Do not bring alcohol on any New Jersey Transit trains this weekend.

The agency is banning any open containers of alcohol on trains and light rail cars from 5 p.m. Friday until midnight Sunday because of various special events taking place in New Jersey and New York City.

Beverages of any kind will not be permitted on NJ Transit buses.

NJ TRANSIT buses will also be rerouted for detours to accommodate several events, including the Portuguese Day Parade in Newark on Friday.
