NJ Gas Prices Increase For Fourth Straight Week
UNION, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - For the fourth straight week, gas prices are up in New Jersey.
"They are horrible," one driver told WCBS 880's Jim Smith.
Motorists are upset after seeing another 8 cents a gallon tacked on last week. The average price for a gallon of regular gas is now $2.19.
"Yeah they are inching up. I hope they stay under $2.50, that would be good," another said.
Oil industry Tom Kloza said prices could hit that mark with refinery maintenance putting a drag on production.
"We'll probably go up another 20 or 30 cents in the month of March. It's very typical this time of year," Kloza said.
But have no fear, Kloza says, the summer peak won't be as bad as previous years.
"I don't think we'll probably see $3.00 gasoline, we see numbers like $2.70, $2.60, $2.80," he said.
