NJ Family Says Final Goodbye To Paterson Girl Shot While Playing With Friends

PATERSON, N.J.(CBSNewYork) -- A New Jersey family was preparing to say one last goodbye on Saturday, to a 12-year-old girl who was murdered while riding her scooter last week.

Hundreds of mourners gathered in Paterson on Friday, for the funeral of Genesis Rincon.

Rincon was struck by a bullet while playing with friends. Her father choked up during a tribute to his daughter.

"A true angel has received her wings and flew up to heaven. She will also be in our hearts," Alexis Rincon said.

Three men have been arrested in connection with her death.

Jhymiere Moore, 19, has been charged with murders, but insists that he is innocent.

"My client turned himself in because he is not guilty. He's not running from these charges," Defense Attorney, Harley Breite said. "My understanding is, there was no gun. There was no gun found on my client."

Prosecutors said that there could be more arrests.

Genesis was to be buried on Saturday.
