Syracuse Senior From Queens Identified As Victim In Deadly New Jersey Bus Crash
MORRISTOWN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) – A young woman from Queens was killed and dozens more were injured when a bus crashed Thursday on Interstate 80 in New Jersey.
The multi-vehicle wreck happened around 7:30 p.m. along the eastbound express lanes on I-80 near Parsippany.
Police said an Adirondack Trailways bus headed for New York City struck the median near exit 43. Three cars were also involved.
The NJSP has identified Brianna Herrera, 21, from Ozone Park, N.Y., as the victim who was killed in a crash that occurred last evening on I-80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills. Herrera was a passenger on the Prevost bus. Cause of the crash remains under investigation. No additional info.

One person on the bus, identified as 21-year-old Brianna Herrera of Ozone Park, was killed. Herrera was a senior member of the Sigma Delta Tau sorority at Syracuse University, and was headed home to visit her family at the time of the crash.
"She took school very seriously, was very ambitions," her brother, Josh, told CBS2. "She had driven a lot of goals so yeah, it's still tough."
Four other people were seriously hurt, and more than 20 people suffered minor injuries.
Several other passengers were taken to the Parsippany firehouse to be evaluated.
The accident shut down traffic in both directions on I-80 overnight while emergency crews investigated. The roadway has since reopened.
It's still unclear where the bus originated from.
A vigil was held in honor of Herrera Friday night at Syracuse University. The school is offering counseling to anyone in need of support. For more on that, CLICK HERE.
