NFL, Cirque Du Soleil To Team Up For Times Square Exhibit

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NFL is teaming up with Cirque du Soleil to create a new exhibit in Times Square.

As WCBS 880's Marla Diamond reported, the NFL Experience going up at the corner of 47th Street and Seventh Avenue is designed to give visitors a piece of the action.

NFL.com reported that the exhibit will be set up in a 40,000 square-foot space, with exhibitions and shows by Cirque du Soleil to showcase the game day experience.

"You will be on the sideline, you will be called into a play, you'll be in the huddle, you'll throw a pass, you'll feel the pass," said Cirque du Soleil producer Scott Zeiger. "It might rain, it might show."

NFL Films will supply video content on the exterior of the building, the publication reported.

And although the circus is partnering with the NFL, you will not see any linebackers walking a tightrope.

"We've been involved in two Super Bowls, and that's when the idea starts clicking," said Cirque du Soleil chief executive officer Daniel Lamarre.

Published reports said the exhibit will open in the fall of next year.
